Submerged object proves a mystery

Bomb disposal experts have been called in to examine an unidentified submerged object by Clevedon Pier in Somerset.
The large pointed object was seen sticking out of the mud during an exceptionally low tide.
Bomb squad officers from Plymouth and local coastguards will try to locate and identify it at the next Spring tide on 30 March.
Pier manager Linda Strong said there had been much speculation about what the mystery object could be.
Experts have examined photographs of the object taken by a local angler, but have been left stumped.
