Passengers have demanded to know why they were forced to stay on a plane for more than two hours while tests were carried out on a white powder found in an overhead locker.
The Jetstar flight from Melbourne landed at Cairns at 7.45pm yesterday.But the 113 passengers and seven crew were told to stay on board for two-and-a-half hours while emergency services carried out tests on the powder.
The powder was later revealed to be harmless but its exact nature has not been revealed.However, passengers wanted to know why they had to remain in the plane while Queensland Fire and Rescue Services (QFRS) officers wearing chemical suits carried out tests on the powder.
