“Mr Debendra Kishore Panda is dead. I am now Baba Krishnanandaji. I died the day I got spiritual insight,” he told the reporters trailing him since his arrival here yesterday.
Mr Panda, who visited the Sri Jagannath temple here accompanied by a young woman with a child, said that he was very happy after having darshan of his swami (husband).
Asked about the woman companion, Mr Panda said she was his first and last disciple.
She also presented herself before the media as the disciple of the baba from whom she has got spiritual insight. Mr Panda also asked her not to reveal her name before the Press. Questioned whether she was his wife, she said:
“I have already said I am his disciple.”
Mr Panda intervened to say that he had not married her. On his arrival in Bhubaneswar yesterday, he had picked up the lady and the child from the airport after her arrival and then proceeded to Puri.
He then turned his ire at the media alleging the Press was “polluting” the minds of people.
