Yet Another 'Radha' from Uttar Pradesh Police
Rao Jaswant Singh
Lucknow Newsline
______________
Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh (India):
“Doosri Radha’’ Inspector General D K Panda has competition for the affection of Lord Krishna. And the competitor is no other than a fellow policeman.
Constable Deependra Singh, currently posted at the Economic Offences wing, Lucknow, has been dressing up as a woman for the last one month and, if he is to be believed, he is doing it on instructions he received straight from Lord Krishna.
A chat with Singh was revealing. The constable candidly admitted to Newsline that he had received the Lord’s instructions after being ‘‘harrassed’’ for long by the police department. Fake cases, he said, had been registered against him after raised his voice against the extortion by constables near the Ram Lila temple in Juhi locality.
But ‘‘instead of taking action against the tainted policemen’’, the officers ‘‘registered a case of extortion and harassment against me.’’
Singh’s neighbours at Kidwai Nagar however, have a different story to tell.
He was rude to people and extorted money from shopkeepers, said Chote Lal.
