Des Moines, Iowa (US):
She wore white gogo boots with khaki green denim pants that had a braid around the waist. Her underwear was multicolored — red, white, blue and yellow — and she had a gold friendship ring on her middle finger.
Her hair was blonde.Until Thursday, this was the most authorities knew about "Jane Doe" — a partially skelotonized body found in 1978 with her lower jaw and all but two teeth missing in a roadside ditch near West Lyon School in Lyon County.
Twenty-eight years after the discovery, the Lyon County Sheriff's Department now knows her real name but few details of her life.Authorities announced Thursday that the body belongs to 23-year-old Wilma June Nissen, who grew up in California and was found dead on Oct. 4, 1978, in northwestern Iowa.
Bloemendaal said fingerprints that were taken when Nissen was arrested for prostitution in Long Beach were submitted to an FBI database. Prints were taken from the body when it was discovered and were also entered into the database. Somehow, he said, the Long Beach prints were only recently entered into the database.
