Newton, Massachusetts (US):
An insurance agent who always promptly reported to work by 8 a.m. was mysteriously “executed” yesterday, shot in the face at point-blank range after pulling into his Newton office parking garage.
Edward Schiller, 39, of Framingham, an employee of Aronson Insurance Agency, was killed instantly by a single bullet, authorities said. He was found slumped over the steering wheel of his 1999 Maxima by a co-worker, Middlesex District Attorney Martha Coakley said.
“From the shooting in the head at close range . . . you could label it as an execution,” Coakley said.
Coakley said the co-worker found Schiller’s body on the first floor of the two-story garage about 9:37 a.m., but it is believed he was shot sometime between 7:30 and 7:40 a.m.
