Pueblo, Colorado (US):
Police said Sunday that Freddie Arthur Delariva, 29, the suspect in a homicide Saturday on the East Side, has refused to talk to them. And the motive behind the early-morning slaying of a convenience store clerk is still a mystery.
Delariva was arrested in the first-degree murder of Annette Martinez, 35. She was the only clerk working Saturday morning at 7-Eleven, 804 E. Fourth St., according to police and witnesses.
An autopsy conducted Sunday on Martinez showed she died from "major stab wounds to the neck," Pueblo County Coroner James Kramer said.Police have been working on the case nonstop since they first responded to 7-Eleven just before 3 a.m. Saturday.
Customers could not find a clerk inside the store, so police were flagged down. A search found Martinez dead in a back room.
Later Saturday, detectives received tips that led to a warrant and subsequent arrest of Delariva on the East Side.
