Police 'Beat Man to Death'

The mother of a man who died after being subdued by capsicum spray during a routine arrest has alleged her son was beaten to death by police.
Michael John Eddy, 26, from Loganholme in Brisbane's south, died on February 20 last year after an intense struggle with police officers at a friend's home unit.
During the struggle, Mr Eddy was sprayed twice with capsicum spray before finally being handcuffed. He died at the scene.
At the inquest into Mr Eddy's death in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today, Wendy Capner said she believed her son was beaten to death.She told the court that when she identified his body the day after his death, it appeared to be badly bruised.
