Another day of anxiety began Monday for the family of a missing Oakland doctor, who vanished without a trace during a short trip from her Fruitvale area office to a medical meeting in nearby Alameda one week ago.
Family and friends of Dr. Zehra Attari marched the short distance between the neighboring cities on Sunday in an attempt to raise community awareness of the case.Last week, the family put up a $10,000 reward and that amount was matched by community donations to $20,000 over the weekend.
The family says it has gotten a great deal of support from Dr. Attari's patients, friends and residents in the heavily Hispanic Fruitvale neighborhood.
