Bellefonte, Pennsylvania (US):
Police trying to solve the mystery of what happened to missing District Attorney Ray Gricar are still hanging their hopes on a computer hard drive found in October.
But weeks after turning the drive over to the FBI, Bellefonte police officer Darrel Zaccagni said, authorities still have no word on whether any data can be salvaged. They don't even know if FBI analysts have begun examining the drive or when they might be able to expect a report.
They do know that, until that happens or some new information turns up, their efforts to find out what happened to Gricar after he went for a drive in the Brush Valley area are at a standstill.
"We're at a dead end," Zaccagni said. "There's been no real tips lately."After Gricar was reported missing by his girlfriend April 15, his car was found in Lewisburg. His keys, sunglasses and county-issued laptop were missing.
Fishermen found the laptop -- missing its hard drive -- in the Susquehanna River under the state Route 45 bridge in Lewisburg this summer.
In early October, passers-by found a hard drive, the same make as the laptop, pressed into the riverbank near the bridge.
