Pretoria (South Africa):
The death of Inkatha Freedom Party councillor Vika Ndlovu and the circumstances around it have left his anguished father David Ndlovu with more questions than answers.
Especially since it emerged that the councillor was seen by security guards walking to Henley Dam naked on his way to swim last Wednesday.
His family had not seen him since Monday and alerted authorities to his disappearance. This week his body was found floating in the dam – six days after the family raised the alarm that he was missing.
“If they are to be believed why then did the security guards not raise the alarm when my son did not come back from the dam?”"Where was the Mpumuza ward councillor in the two days between the time of his disappearance on Monday and the time the security guards saw him on Wednesday," Ndlovu’s father asked.
The guards had apparently told him his son had not responded when they asked him where he was going or why, he said.Ndlovu said the dam gates were locked when the police arrived to pick up his son’s body on Sunday.
