One Week Later, No Trace of Marilyn

Aurora, Illinois (US):
The police have searched her house, her car, her neighborhood and the local forest preserve. But one week after her car was involved in a bizarre accident, there is still no sign of Aurora resident Marilyn Bethell.
Last week's massive search of the forest preserve behind Bethell's house revealed no new clues and left officers feeling dejected.
At this point, police admit they are not sure if they're looking for someone who is alive or dead.It was a week ago Monday — Halloween morning — that Bethell's 2003 black Honda Accord smashed into a parked car less than a mile from her house. The Honda pushed the parked car more than 50 feet, and a black male carrying a gun got out of the car — only to be hit by a red or maroon Dodge Intrepid, driven by another man with a gun.
The black male got into the car that hit him, and the two men sped off. When police responded to the accident, they began to find indications that Bethell may have met with foul play. Although police believe she made it home at some point, she has not been seen since Sunday, Oct. 30, when she left work in northwest suburban Hoffman Estates.
In the meantime, police have ruled out Bethell's boyfriend as a suspect and said Bethell's home appears to be in order — it wasn't ransacked or looted.
