Kentucky Cold Case Solved

Madison County, WI (United States):
It's a mystery eleven years in the making.... but a Wisconsin newspaper reports that a Kentucky 'cold case' has been solved.
A man's body was found in Madison County on Thanksgiving Day in 1993.
Last December, authorities said the body was that of Douglas Prouty from Madison, Wisconsin....but his family has been waiting for DNA results to confirm that it's really him.
27 NEWSFIRST spoke with the 'cold case' expert that helped solve the mystery.
After Prouty was identified...his sister-in-law saw a story about him on the internet. She sent pictures to 'cold case' expert Todd Matthews who says the photos matched an artist's sketch, the age and weight of the "Madison Man."
"It's just unspeakable-- it just feels really good to finally find a little bit of closure to something like that. You get really close to a lot of these cases and the people and they sort of become your own family member until you can actually put them back with their biological family," said Matthews.
It has now been almost a year since Prouty was identified. With the DNA results back, Mathews says now he--and Prouty's family-- have the closure they're been waiting for.
"I've been biting my fingernails for a year, but it confirmed what I knew in my heart to be true almost a year ago," Matthews said.
Although he has never met them face-to-face, Matthews has been emailing back and forth with Prouty's family members over the past year.
