Yorkshire (UK):
Sheffield United striker Neil Shipperley is at the centre of a mystery health scare.
Shipperley, 30, is awaiting the results of blood tests which were taken before, during and after the Blades' 1-0 league win over Wolves.
Doctors recommended the tests because Shipperley had been complaining of low energy levels and over-tiredness during games.
Manager Neil Warnock has not commented on the possible nature of the illness but blood tests will help rule out glandular fever.
With two games in the space of the next four days, Warnock may even be tempted to rest Shipperley for tomorrow night's game against Millwall.
French striker Vincent Pericard, who has yet to start since arriving on loan from Portsmouth, could deputise with a view to Shipperley returning to action in Friday night's Yorkshire derby against Leeds United at Elland Road.
Warnock said: "We don't know exactly what is wrong but Neil has felt tired in the last 30 minutes of every game this season. It is nothing to do with his age, it is a tiredness that should not be there.
"We have done the tests at three different stages – morning, lunchtime, and straight after the game – because we want to get to the bottom of this and it is so good what you can do now with modern day technology."
Shipperley's fifth goal of the season secured victory over promotion rivals Wolves and kept the Blades firmly in charge at the top of the Championship table.
The one-time Barnsley striker joined the Blades in the summer from Crystal Palace and has emerged as a key figure in the club's promotion bid following the £1.1m departure of Scottish international striker Andy Gray to Sunderland.
Warnock also revealed that another of his summer signings, winger Paul Ifill, had been suffering from tonsillitis in the build-up to Saturday's game.
Ifill managed to play for an hour but will also be a major doubt for tomorrow night's visit to his former club Millwall.
