Mysterious Substance At Post Office
Jackson County (United States):
A mysterious white substance was discovered at an area post office earlier this afternoon.The white powder was the reason the entire building was blocked off and one woman was sent to the hospital.Jackson County Sheriff's deputies say that when Rebecca Franklin checked her mail, she found a white powdery substance in and on her mailbox.It was the same substance also found at the Millwood Post Office.Fire departments from both Southern Jackson County and Cottageville responded.Their hazmat teams were sent in to check the building and decontaminate anyone who may have been exposed to the substance.Officials say 40-year-old Franklin was treated and released from Jackson General Hospital.As for the substance, the hazmat teams bagged it up and sent it over to the state police office.Officials there then sent it down to Charleston for further testing.
