Gainesville, Florida (US):
If Cujo could talk, the Labrador-mix might tell where he made his grisly discovery of a human skull and leg bone.
Instead, investigators will be left with the task of determining where the dog found the unidentified remains.Using yellow crime-scene tape, Alachua County Sheriff's deputies marked off several sections at the end of quiet, tree-laden SW 46th Street, where the bones were located Wednesday.
The neighborhood is off Archer Road, west of Interstate 75 and bordered by woods along the south.Cujo's owner, James Hansen, 52, didn't realize the bones his dog had been bringing home were human until that morning, said Hansen's sister-in-law, Dreama Hansen.James Hansen went outside shortly before 9:30 a.m. to feed Cujo when he took a closer look at what he thought was a gourd on the ground.
He moved it, and two empty eye sockets looked back. The scene became creepier, she said, when she learned that another bone found near her home, next door to her brother-in-law, was the leg bone of a human being. Cujo had brought back that bone about four days ago. More bones, including what she said looked like ribs, also were discovered in her backyard, but investigators haven't confirmed if these also are human.
