Pool Spider Killed the Journalist?

Mystery surrounds the death of a former Eastbourne man who died on Christmas Day in Australia after a tragic swimming pool accident.
Gordon Dexter, who went to Eastbourne Grammar School, was discovered at the bottom of the pool at his home in Queensland. It is believed he was bitten by a spider which lives in pools. The 42-year-old sports journalist died two days later with his Australian wife, Cathy, and his parents, Harvey and Barbara, who live in Warren Close, at his bedside.
Dr Harvey Dexter is a retired head of the X-ray department at Eastbourne District General Hospital.His sister, Tracy Tomsett, said Mr Dexter had been enjoying a swim in the pool at his home with his wife and friends when he fell unconscious.
Mr Dexter, known as Gordie, Gordo and Dex, emigrated to Australia 19 years ago and lived in Brisbane where he ran his own freelance writing business.
