Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has promised to give up sex until the April 9 general election. "I promise two and a half months of complete sexual abstinence until April 9," the daily Il Giornale cited Berlusconi as saying.
His peculiar vow came after being congratulated for opposing gay marriage and defending family values.
Berlusconi, 69, is known for his vanity and pride in his physical fitness. Since coming into office in 2001, he has had a facelift and a hair transplant.
