Strangled Girl: Men in Old Photo Sought
Edmonton Journal
______________
Edmonton (Canada):
Mary Willier wasn't sure what she would find on a roll of undeveloped film she had been hanging on to since finding it among her strangled daughter's possessions in January 1997.
What she didn't expect to find when she finally got around to developing the film last year were several pictures of her daughter smiling for the camera with two mystery men.
"I was shocked. I didn't know what to do. I started screaming and crying," says Willier, who has not celebrated Christmas since her only daughter and youngest child, Joanne Ghostkeeper, was found strangled in her Beverly apartment on Dec. 25, 1996.
After failing to find out on their own who the two men are, Ghostkeeper's family turned the pictures over to Edmonton police historical homicide detectives two months ago in the hopes they could learn the men's identities and determine if they have any valuable information about her death.
Police released the photographs on Wednesday.Ghostkeeper, a 24-year-old mother of two, was found dead in her fourth-floor suite, at 11925 34th St., by police after her father, Daniel Ghostkeeper, who was expecting her for Christmas, couldn't reach her.
