Plymouth, Massachusetts (US):
Rambling, hand-written notes tacked to church doors in recent months have taken on new meaning following a fire at New Testament Church in Plymouth.
The notes were found recently on the doors of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church and Second Church of Plymouth Congregational in the Manomet section of Plymouth. They contained passages from the Bible and statements about keeping churches open to those who want to pray, but did not contain direct threats, police said.
Police will not comment on whether a similar note was found at the New Testament Church on Long Pond Road after someone doused it with gasoline and tried to set several fires. Windows at the church were broken, and there was other damage at the small, non-denominational church.
