Pretoria (South Africa):
The Shanae Muir murder mystery has taken a new turn with the announcement of a recent find, which might provide important clues to the killer or killers' identity.
While no one at this stage is prepared to say if the discovery of a man's golf shirt and trousers has a definite bearing on the investigation, an appeal has now gone out to anyone who recognises the clothing to come forward with information.
Police are planning to send the clothes to Pretoria for forensic testing, and last night, five-year-old Shanae's grandmother, Margaret Chaplin, said she hoped the pictures of the clothing "would jog someone's memory".
Shanae vanished from her home in Warner Beach on July 9, and despite an intensive search, she was never seen alive by her family again. Her decomposing body was found on July 27, about a kilometre from her home in dense bush near an embankment overlooking the N2 freeway between the Winklespruit and Doonside off-ramps.
