Edward’s TV Firm in Offshore Cash Mystery

______________
London (UK):
The Earl of Wessex’s television company has received a £350,000 cash injection from a mystery offshore source. Malcolm Eldridge, company secretary of Ardent Productions, confirmed the cash injection last night. Asked where the money came from, he told The Sunday Times: “I have no idea. It had nothing to do with me.” Malcolm Cockren, chairman of the company, said that he had “absolutely” no idea of the source of the financing.
Asked whether the money could have been provided by the mafia or a disgraced dictator, he told The Observer newspaper:
“Yes it could be . . . but I put it to you, if the bank was about to foreclose on your mortgage and somebody offered you £350,000, would you refuse it?” The only information provided about the cash was that it came from a firm called Intercap Ventures Incorporated, based on Tortola, in the British Virgin Islands, an offshore tax haven with a reputation for secrecy.
