Sydney (Australia):
Victorian police will offer new rewards in an effort to solve the murders of Jennifer Tanner and Adele Bailey. Mrs Tanner died from gunshot wounds at her Bonnie Doon home, in north-east Victoria, 20 years ago.
Adele Bailey was a transsexual prostitute whose remains were found in a mine shaft near the Tanner's property 10 years ago.
A coroner implicated Mrs Tanner's brother-in-law, former Victorian policeman Denis Tanner, in their deaths, but he has not been charged and maintains his innocence.
"I made complaints nearly three years ago in the hope that the evidence from my investigation would be used in a correct manner in a proper investigation," he said.
"There's plenty of people who have come out of the woodwork for their two minutes of fame, but none of that was ever put before a coroner's inquest. So I'm satisfied nothing will come out of it."
It is believed rewards totalling $2 million will be offered.
