Camas, Wash.(United States):
Search crews found the source of an emergency signal that was detected in the Larch Mountain area near Camas.
The signal was the kind sent out by an aircraft following a crash and it prompted a search effort to look for a possible downed plane.
A monitoring service in Virginia picked up the distress signal by satellite Monday evening.
Although no airplanes had been reported missing, searchers worked in the darkness overnight to try to figure out where the signal was coming from.
After an extensive search throughout the day on Tuesday, crews discovered the signal was coming from a device inside a house.
No one was home and it is a mystery why a person would have such a device.
