FIR Lodged Against Vice-Chancellor in Students' Mysterious Death Case

An FIR has been lodged against the Vice-Chancellor of the Birla Institute of Technology (BIT)-Mesra, one of the country's prestigious educational institutions, here in connection with 
the mysterious death of a student.
According to the police, father of the deceased student Amit Lal, who was found dead in his hostel room on October 19, lodged the FIR against VC S K Mukharjee, a security guard and five students at the Sadar police station yesterday.
He alleged in the FIR that five students killed his son by feeding him poisonous food deceitfully at a party and the VC and security guard tried to shield the killers by presenting it as a case of suicide.
