Singapore Woman's Death in Malaysia- Police Struggle for Clue
Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia):
She died in a foreign land, in her undergarments, clutching her handbag.
But what actually happened is still a mystery.
The China Press reported that Singaporean Ee Xin Zhu, 49, was found at 11pm on Saturday in the back alley of her Seremban apartment block. She had just moved in a month ago.
Ms Ee, described as a very slim woman, had no money in her handbag. The police found her passport and an air ticket in the bag. It is believed Ms Ee flew to Malaysia on 17 Sep.
Her passport did not contain any address or contact numbers.
Police also found a white cloth on the window ledge from which she is believed to have fallen.
According to the China Press, a resident who was on his way home found Ms Ee lying at the foot of the block.
She stopped breathing five minutes later.
It is believed that Ms Ee died of internal bleeding. Bones in her left leg and left hand were visibly broken.
The door to her fourth-storey apartment was locked.
The police did not find anything suspicious when they entered, according to newspaper reports.
They do not rule out the possibility of suicide and are still investigating.
A post-mortem will conducted today.
Residents told the Malaysian newspapers that they did not know Ms Ee personally. Most had not spoken to her, and some did not even know her by sight.
The condominium in Seremban contains 62 units, but many flats are still vacant.
According to press reports, only 12 units are currently occupied.
