Ashley Archibald was riding the school bus early Tuesday when she saw smoke billowing out of the doors and windows of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in rural Boligee, Ala.
The small wood-frame church was among four Baptist churches in western Alabama that were set on fire early Tuesday, less than a week after suspicious fires hit five churches in central Alabama.
Two of the four churches that were set afire Tuesday were destroyed.The blazes were at churches off rural roads and were 10 to 20 miles apart.
The fires were set in three counties, about 60 miles from the Bibb County area where the five churches were burned last Friday.
