Boy Missing Since '89 Killed by Dad: Police

More than 16 years after a 2-year-old boy went missing, Jersey City police say they have the man responsible for murdering the child. His mother has been praying since 1989 for his safe return.
But on Tuesday night, the father—her ex-husband—was in jail for killing Curtis McCoy. The little hope remaining that he was alive has dissolved. Curtis Williams reported his son missing after picking him up from his mother in November of 1989.
Everyone thought the boy had been kidnapped back then, and stashed with a relative, not murdered. Even the detective who reopened the cold case and made the arrest said he thought he’d find the lost boy alive until the evidence told him otherwise. “It hit hard. It really hit hard,” said Det. Keith Armstrong of the Jersey City Police Department. Armstrong said the man arrested had no remorse whatsoever. Now the little boy’s mother must begin the grieving process.
