An airplane part that dropped through the ceiling of a Dearborn Heights woman's home most likely came from a Northwest Airlines flight landing at Metro Airport.
Local 4 learned that bolt could have fallen from the landing gear of flight 31 from London, which was about to land at the Romulus airport.
The plane dropped a piece of metal onto the home in the area of Willis and John Daly roads on Saturday, Local 4 reported. The impact left a hole in the ceiling about 8 inches in diameter, the station learned.
The homeowner, Bettysue Pisula, said she thought something had been shot through her window, but then noticed a hole in her ceiling.
