Riyadh (Saudi Arabia):
Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf said no one knows al-Qaida chief Osama bin Laden was dead or alive.
"I don't know if Osama bin Laden is still alive. I don't know where he is and I will avoid making any guesses. No one knows his fate and I might know more than those who speak out and speculate," Musharraf told a news conference Thursday on the sidelines of the summit of the Organization of Islamic Conference in Mecca.
Musharraf stressed his country will not recognize Israel until after the creation of an independent Palestinian state. He was referring to a meeting in Turkey earlier this year between Israeli Foreign Minister Sylvan Shalom and his Pakistani counterpart, Khurshid Kasuri, which was interpreted as a prelude to full diplomatic relations.
