Woman Disappears as Husband on Trial Over ‘Illicit Ties’

Mystery shrouds the disappearance of a 24-year-old Indian woman a day after she arrived in the UAE with her husband on September 2, 2005.
Smitha, a computer graduate from Kerala, went missing on September 3 from her husband, Sabu alias Antony's apartment in Karama. Smitha's parents, voicing their concern over their daughter, believe that Sabu has something to do with her disappearance.
The husband is lodged in jail facing trial in an illicit relationship case, and the case is posted for hearing on Nov. 29.A police source said the search for the missing girl continues, while her husband is lodged in jail booked under an illicit relationship case.
Speaking over telephone from India, Fancy, Smitha's mother, told City Times that she is still waiting for information about her daughter who has been missing in Dubai since September 3, and believes that her husband, Sabu Alias Antony, is behind her mysterious disappearance.
