A chemical smell prompts SBC employees in Miramar to evacuate, 10News reported.The strong smell was mostly contained to the fourth floor.
Workers who evacuated from the SBC building in the 7300 block of Trade Street were told not to go back inside, 10News reported.Paramedics with the San Diego Fire Department treated 45 employees who said the smell made them sick to their stomach, 10News reported.
The fire department said employees told them they were also dizzy and having breathing problems from the fumes.
According to the fire department, four people were transported to the hospital.The San Diego Hazmat Team was sent to the scene to evaluate the building and found acetone residue on the fourth floor, 10News reported.
Firefighters told 10News this was the fourth time they had been sent to the building for a chemical smell.The Miramar SBC is the main hub for the company.
