Clarkesville, Georgia (US):
There's a mystery in Clarkesville that dates back to the early 1800's. One of the town's first lawyers was murdered and no one knows why.
But this mystery keeps growing. A few years ago mysterious faces appeared on the murdered lawyer's grave, and a local historian is determined to get some answers. It's known as the Old Clarkesville Cemetary.
And more than 200 people are burried here. Historian Joy Lovell has made it her job to get to know their stories. There are also three US Generals, two US Congressmen and the cousin of former president Martin Van Buren. But the tomb that receives the most attention sits in the back. It's the grave of Calvin J. Hanks.
He was 26 and a lawyer. But on August 15, 1834 he was murdered. Four people were arrested and tried, but found not guilty. "No one knows why he was killed and why they were let go," explains Lovell. Joy has been trying to solve this case since the early 90's. But it was more than a decade later that this mystery got even more mysterious.
One night a couple of years ago, Joy was giving one of her usual tours of the cemetary. Halfway through two men asked to join the group. Joy found out a few weeks later the men were ghost hunters and they had an intersting picture to share with her. "Days later after they got their film developed a strange image appeared on the stone. It hadn't been visible to the naked eye before." There are actually two images.
The first is a girl who Joy believes is about 12. On top of her head is what appears to be a bouquet of flowers. Joy thinks she could have been a bride. Underneath the girl is an older man, possibly a doctor.
