Missing Woman's Car Found
Evesham, NJ (United States):
Authorities on Thursday discovered a missing township woman's car parked behind a shopping center in Voorhees. The 2001 black Ford Mustang belonging to Marianna DeMartin, 52, was found in the rear of the Avian Shopping Center off Evesham Road.
The car was locked and there were no obvious signs of foul play, said Evesham police Capt. Jeff Gural."We're continuing to investigate every angle," Gural said.
DeMartin, who lives in the 1900 block of Sagemore Drive, was last seen around 7 p.m. Friday.
She has missed several work-related appointments and failed to show up Tuesday for a planned family vacation to France, police said.
At the Cherry Hill home where DeMartin was raised, her parents and brother declined to comment but thanked the media and the caller who reported her car.
Dr. Jay Taylor, DeMartin's uncle, said the family -- including her four siblings -- had no explanation for the disappearance."It's just a total mystery. How could she just vanish out of thin air?" he said. "She's a very responsible young lady. She's very successful."
DeMartin's credit cards, ATM cards, identification, cell phone and even her dog, Sophie, were left in her home, police said.At her townhouse on Thursday, a pocketbook could be seen hanging by her front door with a hairbrush inside.
Opened envelopes, a phone book and a carton of eggs could be seen on her kitchen table, and a "Do Not Enter" sign was taped to the door.
