Marijuana filled metal box causes shutdown at TCL docks

Claxton Bay (Trinidad and Tobago):
Operations at the Trinidad Cement Ltd (TCL) docks in Claxton Bay came to a standstill on Thursday after the discovery of a mysterious metal box which was attached to a cargo boat.
Officers of the bomb squad, coast guard, army and police were called out at around 2.40 p.m. to investigate the box which was attached, with two metal chains, to the propellers of the Polish vessel carrying gypsum.
The box was discovered by crewmen while they were unloading the boat's cargo.
Following inspection by the bomb squad, the box was declared safe and was opened revealing 42.52 kilogrammes of marijuana inside.
The marijuana has an estimated value of $500,000.
The drugs were seized by officers of the Organised Crime and Narcotics Unit (OCNU) and the vessel was allowed to leave.
