Plane crash: Cause still unsolved

The reason a Piper Cherokee airplane crashed in Fairview Township in June, killing a woman and two children and critically injuring the pilot, remains a mystery.
According to the National Transportation Safety Board accident brief, the probable cause of the accident was a partial loss of engine power for an undetermined reason, which resulted in a forced landing after takeoff and collision with some mobile homes.
The June 25 crash occurred shortly after Nashville, Tenn.-area flight instructor Andrew Lee and his family left Capital City Airport. Lee's wife and two children died.
