Grand Rapids city leaders are looking over a packet to be sent to potential developers of the so-called mystery development property.
The city owns 15.8 acres of the 30 acre property. The packet, called a "Request for Letters of Interest", advertises "a prime, downtown, riverfront site." It's part of the standard operating
procedure, but details what the city is asking.

"We're looking for the proposal that delivers the most jobs, the most economic development and vitality for the city," said Grand Rapids Mayor George Heartwell.The packet also includes a potential timeline for the project. On March 21, the city will approve the packet and send out the request.
By May 19, the letters of interest are due back to the city, and by August 11, the city will respond to the developers. By December 19, the development agreement could be approved by the city commission.
