___________
The cause of a helicopter crash that killed a British online dating millionaire remained a mystery, a coroner said yesterday.
Christopher Matthews, 54, the founder of Club Sirius, a dating agency for single professionals, died at the controls of the helicopter when it came down over Wisconsin in August 2004.His personal assistant, Jim Beauregard, 29, also died in the crash.
Mr Beauregard, a former US marine captain, had answered an advertisement placed by Mr Matthews asking for "a highly intelligent workaholic with the skin of a rhinoceros". Yesterday an inquest in Swindon heard that an American investigation had been unable to determine why the helicopter had been flying low enough to hit high-voltage cables. The helicopter struck power lines before plummeting into a house.
Nigel Brookes, assistant deputy coroner for Wiltshided a verdict of accidental death.
