U.S. Serviceman Held for Murder of Woman in Japan

A U.S serviceman aboard the USS Kitty Hawk has been taken into custody by U.S military officials over suspicions about his involvement in the murder of a 56-year-old woman, it has been learned.
The suspect, whose name has been withheld, has reportedly begun admitting his involvement in the killing of 56-year-old woman Yoshie Sato, who lived in Yokosuka.
Japanese investigators from Yokosuka Police Station said the serviceman entered the gate of the U.S. naval base in Yokosuka with blood on his clothes on the morning of Jan. 3, the same morning Sato was found collapsed at the entrance of a building in the city.
