Unknown Vietnamese Book Tay Ho chi Gets Scholars’ Nod

A book on the area around Hanoi’s West Lake, whose author and date of writing are unknown, has been certified by historians and cultural experts as an authentic chronicle.
Tay Ho chi, whose title roughly means West Lake: From Beginning To End, received vindication Saturday following a meeting of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Information, Steering Board of Millennial Thang Long Festival and Hanoi Association of Historians.
Written in the Chinese Han script, it has been studied and researched by generations of scholars and translated into Vietnamese. But the identity of its author remains a mystery.
