Panel Set up to Probe Indian MPs Scam

The latest on-camera expose about corruption in MPLADs scheme rocked Parliament on Wednesday with Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee setting up a seven-member committee to go into allegations against five members and asked them not to attend the session till a decision was taken.

In Rajya Sabha Chairman Bhairon Singh Shekhawat referred to the Ethics Committee the conduct of two other members
The second sting operation also led to forcible demand from members for scrapping the MPLADs under which MPs can recommend projects worth Rs two crore every year in their constituencies.
