Houston (US):
It was two years ago today that a strange killing rocked Houston politics, leaving investigators with few clues and a heartbroken family with no answers. Allyn's body was found inside his charred home.
The victim was City Hall lobbyist Ross Allyn. The killer shot lobbyist Ross Allyn and set his house on fire. The reason remains a mystery. Some of Allyn's friends in politics wonder whether his death had something to do with drugs. It was no secret he did cocaine. In fact, it was rumored he'd done coke with public officials. Others wondered whether his death had something to do with male hustlers.
Allyn was openly gay and some rough looking young men had been seen visiting his house at all hours of the night. And then, there was a third theory. As investigators and friends picked through the debris of Allyn's house, one of his business associates discovered a voice mail recorded the night the lobbyists was killed.
"And I don't want anybody, you know, everybody, you know, we're all personal friends. Everybody's got dirt on everybody," Allyn said on the tape. Allyn believed his phones had been tapped by a political or business enemy.
