Police Probe Strange Goat Killings
Holley, Oregon (Unites States):
Detectives say someone has been shooting and kiling goats near Holley, in Linn County, in a strange case of animal abuse.
Randy Schoonover said he has no idea why someone would kill his South African boar goats. At first, he thought it was a random event, but it happened back in August and again last weekend. "We've lost 13 goats in a little over a month," he said.
“We're pretty concerned that this is somebody that may come back and try to kill the rest of our goats." Police looking into the crime said the case is bizarre, even for a county that sometimes see animal killings. "We have these sort of things happen on occasion, but not this large of numbers for a specific event," said Linn County detective Will McAnulty.
And with few clues and no eyewitnesses, detectives are just as baffled as the goats’ owners. "I think most people have to look at this as just crazy," McAnulty added. There is a $3000 reward being offered for information that leads to an arrest or conviction in the case.
