Ballybunion, Kerry (Ireland):
One of the top stories in the current issue of The Kerryman newspaper concerns the mystery over the disappearance of a golf ball that used to be part of a life-size sculpture of President Bill Clinton that rests in the town of Ballybunion.
The statue was erected in 1998 to commemorate the visit of Clinton to the famous golf haven in Kerry. It depicts the ex-prez with golf club in hand, ready to tee off at the now missing ball. The statue rests right outside the local police station.
Whoever stole the bronze plaster ball would have had to use a tool of some sort to remove it from the plinth, and may therefore have taken it under cover of darkness,” the paper reported.
