The Second Woman too Found
Moorestown, N.J.(United States):
An elderly woman from South Jersey was found injured and wandering the streets of New York City Monday morning, but the second woman, her 85-year-old cousin, wasn't found until late Monday afternoon under the 59th Street Bridge.
The two women were last seen together Friday night, leaving a home in Moorestown, N.J., at about 10 p.m. in a black 1989 Chevrolet Corsica.
Louise Marshall, 68, was driving her cousin, Almeda Brooks, home. There was no trace of the women until early Monday morning when Marshall was discovered on 25th Street near Saint Vincent's Hospital in New York City. She had a laceration on the back of her head. When she got to the hospital, she apparently told hospital officials to locate her family in New Jersey.
Brooks was reportedly found in good condition Monday afternoon as she sat in the car underneath the 59th Street Bridge.
Police said Brooks was at Cornell University hospital, where she would stay overnight on Monday. Brooks' family members said they have many more questions and not enough answers about what happened. They said they can't wait until Brooks comes home.
"Next thing we know, you're in New York? No," said Brooks' cousin Doris Emerson. "Something is wrong with this picture. Unless Almeda knows … Louise doesn't remember."
"Thank you Jesus. Praise the Lord," said Jeanette Phillips, who is also Brooks' cousin. "Our prayers have been answered."
So far, no one has been able to say what happened to the two women and how they ended up in New York.
